Please Note While it is our intention to adhere to the route described, there is a certain amount of flexibility built into the itinerary and on occasion it may be necessary, or desirable, to make alterations. On Day 1 of the tour, you will be advised of any amendments.

DAY 1 | Arrival - Casablanca

Upon arrival in Casablanca, our representative will be awaiting your arrival at Casablanca International Airport. Please check your terminal number exit after you pick up your luggage. Our representative will escort you to your private vehicle for transfer to your hotel for check-in.

Day 2 | Casablanca-Rabat-Chefchaquen

After breakfast, depart to Rabat, the administrative capital of Morocco. You will enjoy a short walk of the Mohammed V Mausoleum. Mosaics rise from the marble floor to a ceiling of gold leaf and hand-carved cedar wood, while the three ground-floor tombs are carved from white onyx. Next, we will continue to the Mausoleum is Le Tour Hassan (the Hassan Tower), which is the towering minaret of the Hassan Mosque, which began construction in 1195. The morning ends with a visit to the Kasbah of the Udayas, Rabat’s medina. This is the fortification constructed on a mountain, overlooking the ocean. The Kasbah was constructed during the realm of the Almohads. Inside the Kasbah, one can come across Andalusian gardens full of orange trees, flowers, and palms. Continue to Chefchaouen for overnight

DAY 3 | Chefchaquen-Meknes-Volubilis

After breakfast, you will enjoy the city tour of Chefchaouen or Chaouen in Berber is one of the most beautiful towns of the Rif Mountains. Chaouen is famous for its white and blue houses and the Arab Andalusian heritage it kept safe for centuries. Visit the lime-washed white streets and the local markets animated by the local Berbers dressed in festive colorful clothes. Ras Elma Springs is a mineral water source that Chaouen is known for, and it is worth a visit. Then drive across the Saiss plain to Meknes: a medieval city rebuilt by the king, Moulay Ismail, in the 17th century to become his capital. Being one of the Imperial cities of Morocco, Meknes offers the visit of various monuments, the mausoleum of Moulay Ismail and its harmonious Moorish design; Bab El Mansour gate, the most beautiful in North Africa and an amazing combination of tile work. At the end of your visit take a walk to El Hedim square and visit its food market.
In the early afternoon, we will head north towards the mountains of Zerhoun to visit Moulay Idriss, the holiest town for the Muslims in Morocco, where the first King is buried. Visit Volubilis, the Roman capital of Morocco built over two thousand years ago when this part of the country was a Roman province. Discovering the Roman part of Moroccan history, you will admire one of the most beautiful collections of mosaics that have never been moved from their original site since their discovery in the early 20th Century. In the late in the afternoon, drive back to Fes via the village of Zgouta through a different part of this scenic countryside

DAY 4 | Fes

Following breakfast at the hotel, we will continue with a tour of Fes, the oldest royal city in Morocco. Founded in the 9th century, it is said to be the most complete medieval city of the Arab world as it has preserved all its medieval aspects and way of life. We will start our full-day visit to Fes with a tour of the ramparts for a generous introduction to the history and the culture of the city. Fez will stimulate all your senses as you go for your guided tour inside Fes el Bali (old Fes) across food and spice markets, handicraft quarters, auction markets, and colorful souks. Visit the medieval children’s schools and meet the school teacher and the pupils, enter artisan workshops and discover the secrets of their ancestral arts, visit the public bakeries and pastry makers in the residential quarters and see their historical fountains, mosques, and sanctuaries. The highlight of this morning visit will be inside the 14th century Medersa (theological school) for its most intricate architecture, and around the Karaouine Mosque which was once the oldest university in the world, founded in 857. In the afternoon, continue with a visit to the Royal Palace of the late 19th century where King Hassan I lived. This palace is now a museum of Fes’ traditional arts. Afterward, we will return to the hotel for overnight.

DAY 5 | Fes-Erfoud-Merzouga

After breakfast, we will start by discovering some of Morocco’s beautiful mountainous landscape as we leave Fes and follow ancient caravan routes up into the hills. Along with the way, we’ll stop at Ifran, known as the ”Switzerland of Morocco,” you will see the huge contrast to some of the other more Moroccan feeling cities you’ll see in Morocco. The French built Ifran in the 1930s, intending to recreate an alpine-style resort. You’ll see beautiful parks with lakes, flowerbeds, and red-roofed houses throughout what was named the second cleanest city in the world in 2013. Next, we head on through the hills to the town of Midelt where we will have an optional lunch. We’ll continue through the scenic Ziz as we descend to Erfoud on the edge of the Sahara Desert. We’ll make a short trip to Rissani, the birthplace of the Alaouite Dynasty – Morocco’s current royal family. Finally, we will continue to Merzouga for dinner and overnight.

DAY 6 | Merzouga-Dades-Quarzazate

Optional: Enjoy an early sunrise camel ride along the golden dunes in Merzouga.

Following breakfast at the hotel, we will head back to Tinghir via Rissani and Tinjdad. Tinghir is a gorgeous, 40-kilometer oasis, which boasts one of the largest palm groves in the country. Enjoy walking through the famous Todra Gorge, a 300-meter wall, carved deep into the High Atlas Mountains. Leaving Tinghir behind, we will head to Dades and its charming valley. We will make a stop to take pictures then continue along to Kelaat M’Gouna, a large village famous for cultivating roses. Expect to find many fine, rose-infused products there. Transfer to Ouarzazate, also known as “Morocco’s Hollywood,” for dinner and overnight.

DAY 7 |Quarzazate-Ait Ben Haddou-Marrakech

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel.
Begin the city tour of Ouarzazate with the Taourir, considered among the most beautiful Kasbahs in Morocco. There will be an optional visit to the studio’s film where some of the most famous desert landscapes were and are still being shot. Continue to the spectacular fortress of Ait Ben Haddou, the iconic landscape immortalized in films such; Lawrence of Arabia, Gladiator, and Alexander. Leave Ait Ben Haddou, crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the magnificent Tiz In Tichka pass to Marrakech for overnight.

DAY 8 | Marrakesh

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel.

Today’s tour of Marrakech begins with a trip to the iconic Koutoubia Mosque, home to the minaret which has become a symbol of the city. We then visit the Mausoleum and Bahia Palace which both host intricate and beautiful Arabic craftsmanship. Your next stop is at the Tiskiwin Museum (Maison Tiskiwin), which houses an impressive collection of North African arts and crafts. It was founded by a Dutch anthropologist, exhibiting artifacts from different towns and regions along the ancient trade route from Marrakech to Timbuktu. Then we head to the lively souks and bazaars in Marrakech’s famous medina. Home to many different types of traders these narrow and winding streets are bustling with activity and full of sights sounds and smells uniquely Moroccan. Today’s tour ends at the lively Djemaa El Fna Square which is filled with orange juice stalls and vendors, along with fire-eaters, mime artists, snake-charmers, and street musicians performing at every turn. In the evening, head to a local restaurant to enjoy dinner. Return to your hotel overnight.
