Well I just want to say that the Safari package that you & I put together was great. – Sandy Nelson
Well I can longer blame my jet lag on the delay for my evaluation of my African Safari adventure. However, it did take over a week for me to not want to go to bed in the early afternoon.
Well I just want to say that the Safari package that you & I put together was great. Everything went off without a glitch. Even though we were up early everyday looking to “slay” the Big Five, we did not mind the lack of sleep. We saw all of the Big Five during our game drives. The leopard was the most challenging to see. We never saw any animals take down his meal, but did see a hyena running off with possibly a baby baboon in his mouth. He wanted to eat uninterrupted & of course not share any of his day’s catch of the day.
Our drivers / guide( Anael & Mohammed) were the best. They were always punctual, up early & ready to start our day’s drive. They were very attentive & helpful when it came to any of my client’s needs. The first day out, I realized I had left my backpack in the closet of my hotel room. We were not far from Arusha, heading to Lake Manyara. Anael & Mohammed contacted a friend that drove a motor bike & he went back to our hotel (The Duluti Hotel in Arusha) & picked up my backpack. I was sooooo happy for his friends gesture of kindness, of course I gave him a nice token of gratitude ??. At another time, one of my clients realized that she had left her toiletry bag that contained an expensive mouth guard. Anael, followed through to the end at having it shipped back to her in California by DHL. He advanced the payment to DHL & my client wired the funds back to him upon her arrival home.
Anael, met us at the ferry in Dar Es Salaam. And helped each of us with our bags to the coach, as well as seeing us off at the airport in Dar Es Salaam. I cannot say enough good about Anael & Mohammed. We exchanged numbers & hope to return again to Tanzania.
I was very pleased with all of the hotel selections. They were all nice, clean & comfortable. I think my favorite was the Ngorongoro Serena Lodge. The staff was very nice. The chef came out to our table during dinner & introduced herself to us. She wanted to see if we had any special request for our daily supplied box lunches. Because the Ngorongoro Lodge was the only lodge high in the mountains of the Serengeti it as not unusual to see many animals coming out in the evening. We were told to always call the security when we would leave our room in the evening because the animals could be out on the property. One of my clients (couple) did meet a baboon at their door upon their return from dinner ??. Of course it frightened her, but the security chased him away.
Overall, I could very much offer this same itinerary to my future clients seeking a Tanzania safari. Even though we had only 5 days of safari, I would increase the number of days for the safari & spend only 2 nights in Zanzibar.
Lastly, I was thoroughly pleased with the services that Jason of Tours for the World provided for my group. I will definitely continue my business relationship with Tours for the World. My clients said they would like to perhaps do a combination Tanzania & Kenya safari in the future.
