China: Discover Beijing and Shanghai FAM Trip
Our Itineraries are provided as a preview of what to expect on our tours. Please, note, that itineraries are subject to change.
Upon arrival in Beijing, our representative will meet you at the airport and assist you in transferring to your hotel. Beijing is the capital of the People’s Republic of China, one of the largest and most populated cities in the world that is full of monuments and great points of interest. In the evening, the group will head a welcome dinner at a local restaurant.
Following breakfast, you will visit the Great Wall Mutianyu. The Mutianyu Great Wall is one of the best-preserved and best-known Great Wall sections. Compared with the top-notch Badaling, Great Wall at Mutianyu is less crowded, thus a good destination on hot holidays for a Great Wall tour at ease. After lunch, you will head back to Beijing. Stroll through Sanlitun Village, the trendiest place in Beijing and the symbol of the Beijing's nightlife. Enjoy a roast duck dinner at China Lounge.
After breakfast, depart for a full day of sightseeing, including a walk through Tiananmen Square. Tiananmen Square is the symbolical heart of China and gathering place for the masses. It is the largest public square in the world, which can hold one million people. You will also visit the Forbidden City. The Forbidden City is the inner sanctum and palace where for centuries Chinese emperors ruled their world. It has 9000-room maze of courtyards, places, and ceremonial halls, where 24 emperors used to live. Forbidden City was indeed a forbidden place as commoners were kept out for nearly 500 years in the past. After lunch, the group will head to the train station to take the train to Shanghai. Upon arrival in Shanghai, the group will meet our representative for the transfer to the hotel for check-in.
Following breakfast, you will be transferred to visit Bund and Nanjing Road. A symbolic of concession-era Shanghai, the Bund was the city’s Wall Street, a place of feverish trading and fortunes made and lost. Originally a towpath for dragging barges of rice, the Bund was gradually transformed into a grandiose sweep of the most powerful banks and trading houses in Shanghai. Linking the Bund with People’s Square is East Nanjing Rd, once known as Nanking Rd. The first department stores in China opened here in the 1920s when the modern machine age – with its new products, automobiles, art deco styling, and newfangled ideas – was ushered in. A glowing forest of neon at night, it’s no longer the cream of Shanghai shopping, but its pedestrian strip remains one of the most famous and crowded streets in China. Lunch at a local restaurant. Visit Xintiandi, the French Concession area and Old Town. With its own namesake metro station, Xintiandi has been a Shanghai icon for a decade or more. An upscale entertainment and shopping complex modeled on traditional alleyway homes, this was the first development in the city to prove that historical architecture makes big commercial sense. The city's most stylish side, the former French Concession is where the bulk of Shanghai’s disposable cash is splashed. The low-rise, villa-lined leafy backstreets are perfectly geared to shopping, dining, and entertainment. In addition, you will head an acrobatic show. Dinner is at leisure.
Following breakfast, head to Suzhou. Visit Net Master Garden and Grand Cannel. Due to its unique designs and ethereal beauty, the garden has garnered many special honors. It is listed as a World Cultural Heritage site and has also been designated as one of the Cultural Relics of National Importance under the Protection of the State as well as a Special Tourist Attraction of China. Lunch at a local restaurant. Stroll at Shan Tang Street to see traditional neighborhood by the canal and local market. Visit the embroidery handcraft factory. In the evening, you will head to a Farewell Dinner at Xianqiangfang Restaurant.
Enjoy your morning free at leisure before being transferred to the airport to take your departing flight home.
