DAY 1 | (ARRIVAL) San Jose

One of our representatives will be at the international airport waiting for you to meet and land transfer to San José.

DAY 2 | San Jose – Arenal

Breakfast at the hotel. Regular transfer to Arenal. The Arenal Volcano tour starts with a drive to the active Western side of the volcano. Once there you will embark on a hike on the Toucans Trail which traverses the rainforest and crosses over a large lava flow from 1992.  It is possible to observe a vast variety of plants, wildlife, and magnificent lava rock formations.  Once on top of the lava flow, you will have a beautiful view of Lake Arenal.  The hike ends at a viewing area where weather permitting, you will be able to see red hot lava rolling down the side of the volcano (3 pm tour only).  During the tour, our experienced guides will provide interesting and educational information regarding the history of the majestic mountain and the Arenal Volcano National Park. The tour concludes with a relaxing stop at the mineral hot spring.  Included: Bilingual naturalist guide, transportation in an A/C bus, park entrance fee, beverages, and dinner. Meals: Breakfast, dinner. Lodging in Arenal.

What to bring: Comfortable clothing, hiking boots or tennis shoes, binoculars, camera, sunscreen lotion, insect repellent, and rain gear (during the rainy season).

DAY 3 | Arenal-Monteverde

Breakfast at the hotel. The fastest and best way to Monteverde by far.  A bus will pick you up at your hotel and take you to Lake Arenal where a covered boat will be waiting to take you across the lake to Rio Chiquito.  A 1 ½ hour scenic jeep ride will take you from here to Monteverde, culminating this transfer of approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes. Meals: Breakfast. Lodging in Monteverde.

DAY 5 | Monteverde -Manuel Antonio

Breakfast at the hotel. Regular transfer to Manuel Antonio. It is a perfect destination for those who wish to relax in a spectacular natural environment. Meals: Breakfast. Lodging in Manuel Antonio.

DAY 6 | Manuel Antonio

Breakfast at the Hotel. Transportation provided by the tour operator will pick you up at your hotel from where you will start your ride to Manuel Antonio National Park.  This national park is one of the most famous in our country due to its wide variety of flora and fauna specimens.  The park itself boasts 3 different trails that vary in grade from flat to very steep.  On this Manuel Antonio tour, you will be accompanied by a nature guide who is knowledgeable about everything you will see.  The trail you will take is flat and picturesque and loops through the park making your course approximately 2 miles long. Throughout the hike your guide will stop and explain the different nature specimens that can be observed, you can take photographs or just admire the view.  One of the highlights of this Manuel Antonio tour is that the park is home to 3 of the 4 existing monkey species in Costa Rica.  Halfway through the hike, you will make a leisure stop at the third beach located within the national park.  You will have approximately 20 minutes to rest on the beach or play among the waves if you so choose.  Throughout the hike, you will be able to observe sloths, birds, and reptiles as well as admire orchids, butterflies, and tropical trees.  The guides that accompany you on this Manuel Antonio Trip are equipped with Pentax and Suvaroski telescopes that you can use to observe wildlife and take pictures with a unique perspective. Upon finishing the tour, you will be provided with transportation back to your hotel.  The park is closed on Mondays. Tour Includes Transportation, bilingual guides, park entrance fees, and snacks. Meals: Breakfast. Lodging in Manuel Antonio.

Hotel Presidente

Hotel Presidente San Jose City Center is located in the heart of San José and 350 feet from Costa Rica’s National Theatre and Plaza de la Cultura. It offers free daily breakfast buffet and free WiFi access. The property boasts unique designed interiors.

Rooms at San Jose City Center Hotel Presidente have modern décor with an LCD flat-screen TV. The amenities available also include a laptop safe and a hairdryer.

Las Americas Restaurant is open just for breakfast, while the Azotea Calle 7 Restaurant is open just for dinners.

Set on the seventh floor, the hotel gym offers impressive views of San José. There are computer terminals for guests to use in the lobby, along with currency exchange services and luggage storage.

Hotel Fonda Vela

Offering an indoor pool and a restaurant, Hotel Fonda Vela is located in Monteverde, Costa Rica. Free WiFi access and private parking are available.

Each room here will provide you with a TV, a minibar and satellite channels. Private bathroom also comes with a hairdryer. Extras include a sofa.

At Hotel Fonda Vela you will find a terrace and a bar. Other facilities offered at the property include a tour desk and laundry facilities. An array of activities can be enjoyed on site or in the surroundings, including hiking.

You will find beautiful gardens with a variety of places to go birdwatching. A view of the Nicoya gulf is also offered.

Volcano Lodge & Springs

Set in lush tropical gardens, at the foot of Costa Rica’s Arenal Volcano, Volcano Lodge & Gardens offers an outdoor pool and free Wi-Fi zone. Air-conditioned rooms have a terrace.

Each room features tiled floors and comes with a desk, coffee maker and cable TV. The private bathroom includes a hairdryer and shower.

Breakfast is available at the lodge and it is included on the rate. There is a bar, restaurant and snack bar. Room service is available.

The lodge offers free parking. You can arrange excursions like a canopy tour or a visit to nearby hot springs.

Pachira Lodge

The pretty Pachira Lodge is located 5 minutes’ boat trip from the entrance to the lush Tortuguero National Park. It offers an outdoor pool and sun terraces, as well canopy tours and green turtle spotting.

Set in a 34-acre estate, the hotel offers spacious rooms with vibrant décor. Each has a ceiling fan, screened windows and a private bathroom.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner with buffet style featuring local and international cuisine are included on the rate. Guided tours and shuttle from and to San José City are for free.

Massages services for a charge and a free Wi-Fi at the front desk are on offer, as well as activities including fishing. In summer, you can also spot green turtles laying eggs nearby, arrange canopy tours and sunset boat tours.

The Pachira is set across from the main canal facing the neighboring town of Tortuguero.
