DAY 2 | THESSALONIKI – METEORA – VOLOS – THESSALONIKI

Begin your morning with breakfast at the hotel.

Today, you will visit Meteora—a region of unique beauty and religious interest. The region’s landmark is the natural phenomenon of the steep rocks on which remarkable Byzantine monasteries are built and present valuable, historical and religious heirlooms.

You will have free time to taste local food at a nearby restaurant.

DAY 3 | THESSALONIKI – METEORA – VOLOS – THESSALONIKI

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.

Begin your excursion by visiting the White Tower, an historical landmark and continue to the Archaeological Museum. Afterwards, you will reach the Citadel and the city walls where you can admire Thessaloniki’s panoramic view. Continue to visit the Basilica of St. Demetrios, the saint prostate of the Thessaloniki. Ride along Egnatia Street, the route St Paul. walked on his way from Costantinopole to Rome.

You will also see the Galerius’ Arch and St George’s Rotunda Church.

DAY 4 | THESSALONIKI

Begin your morning with breakfast at the hotel.

Be ready for an early morning bus transfer to Ormos Panagias or Ouranoupoli Harbor, where the cruise will begin on its way to the southern point of the Holy Mountain. While sailing, you will have the opportunity to view and photograph Europe’s most unique Monk Republic with its impressive Byzantine Monasteries. Up to this day, 1,700 monks still live under the strict rule on the Holy Mountain, with no woman ever being allowed to set foot there. The boat will cruise along the west coast to Ouranoupolis for a stop of approximately two hours where you can have lunch at leisure.

DAY 5 | THESSALONIKI – PELLA – VERIA – VERGINA – EDESSA – THESSALONIKI

Begin your morning with breakfast at the hotel.

Be ready for an early departure for Pella, the ancient second capital of Macedonian Kingdom and birthplace of Alexander the Great. You will pass by the beautiful city of Edessa with its famous waterfalls. Proceed to the next stop, Veria to see the famous Podium (Bema) where St. Paul had preached.

Continue your trip on to Vergina, the first capital of Macedonia where you will visit the King’s Mausoleum and the famous museum with findings of the Royal Tombs of King Philippos II, father of Alexander the Great.

DAY 6 | THESSALONIKI – KAVALA – PHILIPPI – AMPHIPOLIS – THESSALONIKI

Begin your morning with breakfast at the hotel.

Head to Kavala through the famous Egnatia Road. On the way, stop at the ancient city of Philippi, one of the most interests biblical and historical cities named after King Philip the 2nd, Father of Alexandrer the Great. Enjoy a guided tour at the upper and lower parts of the archaeological site, where you will visit the ruins of two Basilicas, the Theatre, the Prison of St. Paul and St Lydia’s Baptistery. Continue to Kavala, the ancient site of Neapolis, the very same place where St.Paul set foot on the European continent during his second missionary journey.

The tour will include a visit to the house Mohamed Ali and the Aqueduct.

DAY 7 | THESSALONIKI – DION – OLYMPIA – THESSALONIKI

Begin your morning with breakfast at the hotel.

Departure for Dion, the religious center of ancient Macedonia dedicated to the worship of Olympian Zeus, located at the foot of famous Mount Olympus. Then, visit the traditional village Litochoro. Free time to visit this picturesque village and have a walk at Enippeas valley, on the lower slopes of the mountain.

Head back to your hotel to enjoy dinner.
