South Africa: Cape Town with Safari

After having collected their luggage and passed through customs, a representative will transfer you to your hotel.
After breakfast, meet with your local guide and continue with the day scheduled visits. Enjoy a city tour to Cape Town which was originally established as a refreshment station in 1652 for the trade between Europe and the Far East. This morning clients will be taken on orientation tour of the city center, which will include a drive by the Houses of Parliament, The Castle (oldest building in South Africa), the old Malay Quarter, known as the Bo-Kaap, and will take a walk through the Company Gardens, and visit the South African Museum.</p> <p>Lunch will be at leisure and in the afternoon the group will ascend Table Mountain by cable car. This excursion usually takes about 2 hours. (Visit is weather dependent; should excursion not be possible, it will be moved to the following day, or the day after – weather permitting).</p> <p>Time at leisure.</p> <p>Return to hotel for overnight.</p> <p>Dinner at the hotel.
After breakfast, depart the hotel and enjoy a full day tour of the Cape Peninsula, starting with a boat cruise from Hout Bay to view the seals at Seal Island.</p> <p>Continue via the scenic Chapmans Peak pass to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. Visit the most south-westerly tip of Africa.</p> <p>Continue via the False Bay coastline to Simon’s Town and enjoy a fish lunch at one of the local restaurants. Visit the breeding colony of Jackass Penguins, and return to the hotel after a visit to Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens in the afternoon.</p> <p>In the late afternoon, you will return to the hotel to enjoy on your own time some shopping.</p> <p>Coach and guide available for a dinner transfer; continue to the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, situated in Cape Town’s working harbor, where there is a myriad of restaurants, hotels, shops and craft markets. Fresh sea breezes and the warm sun add zest to a cosmopolitan, vibrant atmosphere.</p> <p>Experience the city’s nightlife at your own pace.
After breakfast, we are in route to Stellenbosch, in the heart of the Cape Winelands, and it is just a 45-minute drive from the hotel - visit the Village Museum and do a short walking tour in the town, which also houses the University of Stellenbosch.</p> <p>Visit a boutique or larger winery and enjoy 1 wine tasting.</p> <p>Continue over the scenic Helshoogte Pass to Franschhoek, situated in the “Valley of the Vignerons” and settled by the French Huguenots in the 16th Century. From there, driving time from Stellenbosch it is about 20 minutes.</p> <p>Enjoy lunch on your own</p> <p>Visit the Huguenot Museum and return to the hotel in the late afternoon.</p> <p>Return to hotel for overnight.</p> <p>Dinner at the hotel.
Early breakfast and check-out of the hotel, for transfer with English Chauffeur to Cape Town Airport (CPT-JNB flight not included, to be booked by agent).</p> <p>Meet your new driver/guide upon arrival at Johannesburg’s OR Tambo Airport, and continue to the Mpumalanga Province. Stop en route to visit the Botanical Gardens at Nelspruit. Afterwards, your coach will continue to White River.</p> <p>Lunch at own expense.
Enjoy a full day game drive in the Kruger National Park, with a local ranger in an open safari vehicle.</p> <p>The group will depart the lodge after breakfast and return in the late afternoon. A light lunch will be enjoyed in the park.This reserve was created by former President Paul Kruger in 1898 as a sanctuary for animals, which currently comprise about 450 different birds, 106 different types of mammals, ie elephant, rhino, giraffe, zebra, hippo’s, kudu, impala, and lion. The park is about 220 miles long and 37 miles wide, but there is every chance of seeing the Big 5.
After breakfast, depart with the coach for a visit to the Hoedspruit Environmental Species Centre, traveling distance about 1.5 hrs.</p> <p>The tour starts with an educational video after which clients are taken on a tour of the center focusing on the conservation of rare, vulnerable and endangered animals. Cheetah conservation is one of their core disciplines, as well as looking after baby rhinos whose mothers maybe have been killed by poachers for their horns.</p> <p>Enjoy lunch on your own. The rest of the day is at leisure.
The group will depart the lodge after breakfast and return in the late afternoon for their full day game drive in the Kruger Park.</p> <p>A lunch stop will be made at one of the picnic spots in the park. After lunch, the coach will meet with the group and then travel onwards through the Kruger Park, exiting at Numbi Gate.</p> <p>Return to the lodge. In the evening, enjoy a barbeque dinner around an open fire.
After breakfast, depart your hotel for the drive back to Johannesburg.</p> <p>Total traveling time about 5 hours: a different route will be followed, via the towns of Sabie and Lydenberg, stopping in Dullstroom for lunch at one of the many eateries, the village is known for its trout-fishing opportunities and beautiful scenery.</p> <p>Stop during the route for a lunch on your own.</p> <p>From Dullstroom, you will continue traveling to Johannesburg International Airport. Note: Distance from Dullstroom to Johannesburg is approximately 3 hours.
