While it is our intention to adhere to the route described, there is a certain amount of flexibility built into the itinerary and on occasion it may be necessary, or desirable, to make alterations. On Day 1 of the tour, you will be advised of any amendments.

DAY 1 | Arrival - Muscat

Arrival at Muscat International airport, after visa and immigration formalities our representative will meet and escort the guests to waiting for an air-conditioned vehicle for transfer to the hotel.

Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

| Overnight in Muscat

DAY 2 | Muscat

Breakfast at the hotel. Check-out from the hotel. We will visit Muscat drive through the beautiful embassy quarter, visit the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mo contemporary place of worship, it serves as a spiritual landmark for modern Oman, projecting the values and aspirations of the Omani people. As an edifice, it maintains a perfect balance between aesthetics, culture and deeply rooted Islamic tradition. After the visit, we will continue exploring the different areas of the city. Lunch will be served in the city. After lunch, we will visit the famous Royal OPERA house of Muscat, a music sanctuary created recently by Sultan Qaboos.

Afterward, we will visit Old Muscat, surrounded by steep mountains and flanked by twin 16thcentury forts ‘Jalali’ & ‘Mirani’, also see the Al Alam Palace, His Majesty Sultan Qaboos’ residence. We will then proceed to Bait Al Zubair Museum. Bait Al Zubair is itself a part of Muscat heritage. Sheikh Al Zubair who served three former Sultans founded the house in 1914 and his son Mohammad Al Zubair opened it as a museum in 1998. It’s carved doors opens up into a fortress style reception. The museum includes traditional Omani weaponry, jeweler, costumes, domestic utensils and recreated urban and rural environments. Then drive through the scenic beauty of the corniche, stop at Muttrah – the main port & commercial center, and explore the colorful historic souk. This is a real souk with winding alleys and backstreets and stalls selling all manner of textiles, jewelry, traditional Omani perfumes (Bukhoor – made of frankincense), souvenirs and antiques….After that long tour, we will drive back to the hotel. Dinner at a traditional Omani restaurant, where the smells of spices will mix with the relaxing atmosphere that the OMANI people enjoy.

DAY 3 | Muscat-Nizwa

Breakfast at the hotel. Departures this morning to Nizwa, which was once the capital of Oman and retains its charm as an enduring reminder of traditional Oman. Our. Forts and castles are Oman’s most striking cultural landmarks and together with its towers and city walls, have historically been used as defensive look-out points. It is estimated that there are over 500 forts, castles, and towers in Oman. Our today visit will include a few of the ones which are more remarkable & striking in their architecture & style. Nizwa, Oman’s cultural capital. We will then head to visit the beautiful Nizwa center with its Fort ( outside visit ) and its massive circular Cannon Tower, making it one of the most impressive forts in Oman. We will walk through the traditional Nizwa Souq. Lunch in a local restaurant. After lunch, we will proceed to the Jabreen Fort. The Jabreen Castle, built in the 17th century, is one of the finest of its kind. Its magnificent plasterwork, the carved doors and the painted wooden beams of the ceilings make this castle amazingly different. After we visit the Jabreen Castle, we will drive towards one of the oldest small towns of Oman Bahla with its fort ( outside visit ), before we reach back NIZWA downtown, we will stop at the palm groves at Al Hamra to see its Falaj system.

DAY 4 | Nizwa-Wahiba

Breakfast at the hotel. We, Will, start our day by exploring the Nizwa area, our first stop will be the charming ancestral village of Birkat Al Mawz at the bottom of the Green Mountain, Jebel Akhdar. The next stop will be Mudairib, a pretty village of the Interior, dominated by its rectangular fort. Shaded arched colonnades, a flowing falaj and some magnificently carved, ancient wooden doors are testimony to the age of this ancient town. Simple lunch in a small local restaurant. After lunch will drive up in our 4×4 to Al Wasil, the beginning of Wahiba Sands for the overnight camping.

Wahiba Sands – is one of the most fascinating and mysterious regions of Oman. Wahiba is also home to a few thousand Bedouins, who are known to have inhabited this inhospitable region for at least 7000 years. On arrival at the campsite, the guests will be welcomed by the Bedouins and they will serve the guests – Omani coffee, fresh fruits, and mineral water. After light refreshment, our skilled driver will take the guests for a dune drive. Then return to the campsite. At night we will enjoy a moonlight dinner at the camp under millions of stars… Dinner & Overnight at the Desert camp.

DAY 5 |Wahiba- Sur -Ras al Hadd SUR

After the camp breakfast, we will have a short desert exploration by 4×4 until a thrilling experience. The vast, ever-shifting dunes support an astonishing variety of wildlife and host different kinds of flora and fauna. The quick-changing patterns of the dunes are a photographer’s delight. Wahiba sands are also the home to a few thousand Bedouins, who are known to have inhabited this inhospitable region for at least 7000 years. Go dune bashing as our experienced drivers show their skill on the dune drive which is a thrilling experience. After that, we visit Wadi Bani Khalid – a lush green valley surrounded by rugged mountains. We will enjoy an incredible view and a chance to capture the scenic beauty with your camera. Investigate the surrounding area on foot. Lunch at Wadi Bani Khalid.

We will then continue our route through the Omani mountains and wadis. We will then continue to Sur, a seafaring town and a trading port bustling with activity throughout the year. Continue on the coastal road passing through high cliffs and small fishing villages – reach Ras Al Hadd for our overnight stay. Dinner in the hotel. At night, it is one of the highlights of our trip, a unique experience that will happen only in the middle of the night. We will visit the turtle reserve with the possibility of watching the turtles laying their eggs at night.

DAY 6 |Ras Al Hadd - Muscat

After breakfast, we will leave back to the city of SUR. Famed for the fascinating architecture of its old town and shipyards where traditional dhows have been built for centuries at the edge of the bay, we will do a quick orientation of the city, visit its fort and the shipyards where they build DHOW boats in wood. We will then continue our route to Muscat through the Omani mountains and wadis. We will pass by Wadi Shab, a great Wadi where natural pools and scenery are just unique. We will stop for a quick tour of the Wadi. Lunch at the Wadi Shab Resort. Will pass by the white sand beaches of Fins. Then we continue to the famous Sinkhole where we will stop before reaching our destination. Drop off in your hotel in Muscat.

DAY 7 | Muscat-Nakhl- Departure

Breakfast at the hotel. We will start our day drive to Nakhl is a typical Omani village. It lies at the foothills of the mountains near an abundant source of water, which irrigates extensive date palm plantations. Nakhl Tour starts by driving towards Nakhl Fort. As you approach Nakhl, keep an eye out on the fortress that sits on a hillock outside the town. The fort’s origin is pre-Islamic with major contributions by the Al Ya’ruba and the Al Bu Sayed dynasties. We will visit the fort, and the mineral-laden hot springs water in Nakhl (Al Thowarah Hot Spring). We will visit an Omani sweet factory . just see how this famous sweet made of sugar, saffron, rose water and many other ingredients are being cooked with natural woods. Then we drive back through Seeb souq by the seaside. Lunch in a typical Omani fort where you will enjoy Omani food at its best just like the old days. Depending on your departure time. 04hrs before the scheduled flight, transfer to Muscat Int’l Airport.

Sheraton Oman Hotel

Arabian Oryx Camp

Located in the middle of Sharqiya Sands of Oman’s Empty Quarter, Arabian Oryx Camp offers a Bedouin experience in the desert. It features a typical Arabic restaurant that serves a breakfast and dinner buffet.

All Bedouin style tents at Arabian Oryx are fitted with tiled floors. Each has split air conditioning, a fridge and a tea/coffee maker. A shower and free toiletries are provided in the private bathroom.

Guests can enjoy the various traditional meals which are cooked daily and served by the campfire. Complimentary tea and coffee are served all day at Arab Oryx Camp.

Sand skating and dune bashing are offered by Arab Oryx.The hotel also arranges desert safaris with a private camp.
